Chilean Patagonia: Paine and Penguins
We set off for our 5 day trek in the Torres Del Paine with beautiful weather, but how quickly this changed! Two great days of walking up to a glacier alongside lakes with icebergs were followed by torrential rain and 100kmph winds. Camping wasn't quite as much fun as we´d thought. Sadly the mist covered the peaks for the last two days, so we were unable to complete the whole trek. It was a great adventure though, and at least we had an authentic experience of the patagonian weather. From there we headed south to Punta Arenas, (as far south as we will go on our trip). We caught a ferry out to Isla Magdalena, where 1,000s of penguins go to breed each year. We got really close and saw them waddling around and hiding from the strong winds in their little burrows. Up in the Lake District at the moment, surrounded by volcanoes (although due to the clouds we can´t see them yet!).

Mum and Val from the Patient and Public Involvement Forum Support Organisation office checking in to see where you are up to and if any of our forum members look like the penguin!!!
Ha, Ha, me hearties. Penguin Pie is me favourite. Thick crusty top served with peas, gravy and chips. Cook walks the plank if not just right.

Hey you guys!
Goose from Top Gun here! It wasn't the winds that nearly blew your tent down. It was me and Mav trying to bust your tower. Yeeha Jester's dead! Well we thought so anyway. apprently the hard-deck for this exercise was 1000ft. We knew it. We broke it. Anyway Iceman said Mav could be his wingman anyday. God I love Mav. Love him like a lover. I mean brother. Err, gotta go.
